Fund Raising & Events 
Funded solely by contributions, the Foundation relies on companies and people like you who choose to give back to their industry, as well as a portion of proceeds from the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS). Giving opportunities range from major capital campaigns like New Century, which raised more than $9 million for specific identified initiatives, to the Annual Giving Program, which solicits smaller unrestricted contributions on an annual basis to support core programs. In addition to giving campaigns, the Foundation sponsors three major special events each year to raise monies:

The Annual Giving Program, is the Foundation's key yearly fundraiser that supports its core missions, including providing scholarships to hospitality management students, funding important research in areas such as room tax and ADA requirements, as well as promoting hospitality as a career choice through workforce development initiatives.

The Joseph McInerney Scholarship Fund is an endowed scholarship in recognition of his decades of service to the hospitality industry. AH&LA invites you to contribute to the fund, which will be administered by AH&LA’s foundation.

The Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), which is co-owned by AH&LA and Burba Hotel Network, has allocated a generous portion of its revenues to benefit the educational, research, and training missions of AH&LEF.
Since its inception, ALIS contributions have funded following:
• Provided scholarships for 764 students in 91 colleges and universities across the country.
• Generated $1.5 million for more than 45 cutting-edge research projects.
• Generated nearly $4 million to support the development of hotel industry educational products.
• Provided funding for the START program in more than 270 high schools and work force training centers.
• Provided funding for the Lodging Management Program in 400 high schools in the U.S. and overseas.

The Big Apple Silent Auction, featuring top-tier vacation packages and products, is held in conjunction with the International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS) in New York City each November.

The Golf Classic, held at a different premier resort property each year, is a four-day networking event for hotel executives and lodging suppliers.
