Annual Giving Program
Through the Annual Giving Campaign, the lodging industry provides much-needed support to students who have chosen hospitality as their career of choice, as well as funds important research to benefit our industry. Combining all of its educational, research, and outreach programs, the Foundation disbursed more than $1.2 million in 2009.
Expanding Hospitality's Workforce
The hospitality workforce is shrinking and the need to cultivate tomorrow's talent pool is great. The Foundation's Workforce Development Initiative is keeping quality professionals in the industry and attracting and educating our future labor pool.
Hospitality as a Career of Choice
Providing high school students with targeted classroom learning and real-life work experience to take advantage of the boundless opportunities in lodging, the Lodging Management Program (LMP) has been implemented in 46 states with more than 7,000 students enrolled in 680 high schools.
Industry Research
Addressing critical issues such as, room tax, ADA requirements, and technology advancement, the Foundation's research program provides information that's crucial to the industry. Since 1995, the Foundation has distributed $2.5 million in research grants to help hoteliers operate more efficiently – ultimately improving your bottom line.
Education for Tomorrow's Leaders
Connecting today's talented youth with the people, programs, and resources they need to become tomorrow's leaders, AH&LEF has awarded approximately $7 million in scholarships since its inception. In 2009, more than $540,000 was awarded to promising students and lodging industry professionals to prepare them for a career in hospitality.
